Another Milestone on our Road to Recovery

Following the unfortunate events which disrupted our chapter during 2010, we are very pleased to enthusiastically announce our award for Most Improved Chapter from the 2012 Eastern Division Conference! Taking place across the first week of February, Division Conference was held at the Sheraton Harrisburg Hotel. Theta Tau sent five brother delegates for the Conference itself, and were later joined by four more brothers for the weekend’s Rite of Iris and Ritual. Receiving the award had a profound and invigorating effect on Theta Tau, who are now able to more clearly see the Road and the purple haze of manhood.

The Recognized Leader on this Campus

We are pleased to report that Theta Tau chapter is once again the recognized leader of the fraternal world on campus. We have not only bolstered our ranks of men but also worked harder, and have increased our collective GPA to a 3.06 for the Fall semester 2011, up from 2.80 of Spring 2011. This places us at the forefront among all other fraternities, and will be an effective stepping-stone to regain our high stature among all Greek organizations.

The Theta Tau Chapter would like to welcome Dan Ferman, Frank DeFelice, Devon James, Jesse McHugh, Dylan Fatzinger, and Anthony Hendrickson into the Fall 2011 Pledge Class. We would also like to wish the Alpha Eta pledge class luck along their new and exciting journey as they become a part of our strong brotherhood.

Delt and Tri-Sigma Take a Stand Against Hazing

On April 4, 2011, the Brothers of Delta Tau Delta attended the event “A Seminar and Discussion of the Perils and Pitfalls of the Dangers of Hazing in Greek Organizations.” The event was held by the sisters of Sigma Sigma Sigma. The seminar outlined some of the dangers of hazing and the reasons why it does not promote strength within Greek organizations. Nationally Delta Tau Delta along with Sigma Sigma Sigma, Alpha Sigma Tau, and Zeta Tau Alpha has set up the Anti-Hazing Hotline. Both nationally and at Moravian College the members of Delta Tau Delta take a very strict stand against hazing. Vice President Carl Feldman was quoted saying “100% anti-hazing is the way to go.”

Delt Partners With Zeta Tau Alpha to Fight Breast Cancer

On April 3, 2011, Delta Tau Delta partnered with Zeta Tau Alpha to hold the 3rd annual Mini-Golf Tournament. The tournament did tremendously well and raised a large amount of money for charity. All of the proceeds from the event were donated to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Zeta Tau Alpha’s national philanthropy. The Brothers are very proud to continue its positive working relationship with the sisters of Zeta Tau Alpha while supporting this extremely worthy cause.

Spring 2011 Peldge Class Initiated

This past spring the Theta Tau chapter of Delta Tau Delta had a successful term of recruitment and pledging. We welcome our Newly Initiated Brothers Jordan Roman, Sami Mamari, Frank Leon, Ruben De La Cruz, and Aaron Harris. We wish them luck and hope that they throughout their undergraduate experience ascribe to the motto “Committed to Lives of Excellence” that our organization has dedicated itself to for more than 150 years.

Delt Donates Blood

On March 29, 2011, The Brothers of Delta Tau Delta participated in the annual Moravian College Blood Drive held by C3. With their combined donation, the Brothers saved the lives of over 10 different people. Also with their choice to give blood the Brothers join a very select group of philanthropic individuals. Currently only three percent of Americans donate blood. The mission to maintain a safe and stable blood supply for those in need is important to the American healthcare system and Delta Tau Delta has no problem setting the example.

12th Annual Purple & Gold Competition

On April 9th – 10th the The Theta Tau Chapter of Delta Tau Delta will once again hold it’s 12th annual Purple and Gold competition. The teams of Purple and Gold will face each other in a series of physical and mental challenges that will test a Delt to his fullest potential. Its when Pledges, active brothers and alums, come together and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood for a weekend of events and good times. The schedule will be as follows:

Delt celebrates Holi Day at Moravian

On Sunday March 20, 2011 the Brothers of Delta Tau Delta along with their faculty advisor Kerry Sethi took part in Moravian College’s Holi Day celebration. Holi is a Hindu spring festival that is celebrated for two to five days, honoring Krishna’s dalliance with the cowgirls. Bonfires are lit and colored powder and water thrown over the participants. The Theta Tau Chapter again proves that it is quite proud to continue their history of both ethnic and religious tolerance.
